Correct Sleeping Posture

  • Lying on your back (supine) with slightly bent knees
  • With pillow or cushion under knees to relax low back muscles
  • Lying side ways (best lying on your right side) for seniors to avoid compression on the heart.
  • With pillow or roll between thighs to avoid crossing of legs, to avoid blockage of blood circulation of the lower limbs and to prevent pelvic misalignment
  • Avoid sleeping on your tummy, to avoid neck misalignment especially for children
  • Use a large size roll or pillow or plush for children to hold on his/her chest to avoid turning around when sleeping.

 

Correct Sitting Posture

  • keep back striaght and lean against the back of chair
  • rest your arm on arm rest when working with computer
  • keep your chin-in, keep shoulder back
  • overlooking works slightly tilting head forward about 10 degrees from eye levels
  • Keep your feet on the ground and do not cross your legs
  • Use a stool when you are not able to reach the ground, to distribute some body weight to feet

 

 Correct standing Posture

  • Keep weight bearing evenly on both feet
  • Keep your back straight without head forward poking
  • Keep your abs slightly tucked-in when standing and walking especially when you have low back pain
  • Keep shoulder back in a comfort position
  • Keep breathing with your stomach/tummy tucked
